Hey, friends! It’s been quiet around here for a bit. Everything is fine, I’m just hunkered down doing the thing with the small people. Getting used to new rhythms and all that.

But I lost track of time and almost missed the release date for this gem, and I don’t want you to miss it!

I was super excited to be on the launch team for this one. I’ve had my eye on the book for a while because I love the concept: coloring with my kids with some scripture and reflection for us all. But then when they were looking for people to help launch it (read: free book in exchange for a review… yes please!) and I knew it’d be perfect to share with so many of you.

So here’s the deal: There are two pages on the same theme. They face each other like so:

There’s a more complex “mom side” with the devotional to read and a simpler “kid side” that just has a the verse beautifully hand lettered.

In my house, the girls most often want to do the more complex side, leaving me to the simpler one. (This picture isn’t a super great example of the complexity difference between them, but I’m currently out of the house with my pictures but no book, so that’s what we get.) I read the devotion aloud while they pick the perfect pencil, then we swap and color while talking about the verse. Usually there are a few good thoughts, then the conversation devolves to princesses and cheetahs.

In the above picture, the girls both wanted to color and I didn’t have time to sit and color one with Jenna and then one with Katherine (and they couldn’t decide who got to go first anyway) so they agreed on one (see! The book comes with MIRACLES!) and I read the verse and devotion to them, then we talked some while they colored, and then I let them sit, peacefully coloring together (?!?) while I did some other things.
I love doing it with them because it provides some happy downtime and one-on-one connection with my big girls along with a chance to teach them things of God. I love it when they do it together because we get all of the above, plus I get a few minutes to see them just being sweet and happy together, which I desperately need some days.

So here’s the deal. I don’t get anything from you buying the book. I just love it and I think you will, too.

So here’s the important part. Links.
